Sitejabber / SmartCustomer Reviews: A Tale of Two Ratings

First, the name: Sitejabber’s seller-facing product has rebranded to **SmartCustomer**. The dashboard tool itself rates reasonably well under that name, 4.4 stars on Capterra and Software Advice (65 reviews), with tiered plans (Liftoff, Accelerate, Ascend) sized by monthly review-request volume.

The part worth knowing before relying on it: the Sitejabber review platform itself carries a serious, independently corroborated complaint. Trustpilot shows 1.6 stars from 311 reviews, and a BBB complaint plus a separate Capterra review both describe the same specific issue: positive reviews getting removed while contested negative reviews stay up. That is not one disgruntled customer, it is the same complaint from unconnected sources.
