QuickBooks Pricing 2026

QuickBooks Online runs from free to $275 a month across six tiers. What decides your tier is rarely a feature. It is how many people need to log in.

What actually decides your tier

The user cap

Simple Start covers one user. Essentials covers three, Plus covers five, Advanced up to twenty-five. Add a bookkeeper and a partner and you are on Essentials at $75, whether or not you ever wanted bill management.

Your accountant does not count against the cap. Worth knowing before you buy a bigger tier for them.

Payroll on top

The second subscription

Payroll is billed separately. $50/month plus $6.50 per employee for Workforce, $88 plus $10 for Premium, $134 plus $12 for Elite. A five-person crew on the basic tier is $82.50 a month, sitting on top of whatever your QuickBooks plan costs.

Working out the real number

Plan, users, payroll

Start with the tier your user count forces on you. Add payroll if you run staff. Then add card processing on anything you collect through QuickBooks. A five-person service business typically lands near $200 a month all in, not the $38 on the pricing page.

Automatic reviews

The $9 line item that pays for itself

None of those tiers asks your customer for a Google review. Trophy Jar does it off the paid invoice, for $9 a month. That is less than the gap between two QuickBooks tiers. 100 texts a month are included on the $9 plan and 1,000 on the $19 plan, sent from your own local number, and we handle 10DLC registration for US businesses.
