QuickBooks Desktop
QuickBooks Desktop is on its way out. Intuit stopped selling new US subscriptions for Pro Plus, Premier Plus and Mac Plus on 30 September 2024. If you already subscribe you can still renew. The dates below do not move.

Not a switch-off
The software still opens. That much keeps working. What stops is security patching, live support, and the connected services: payroll, payments, bank feeds and third-party add-ons. For most shops it is those services that force the move, not the software itself.
Three honest routes
Move to QuickBooks Online. The path Intuit wants you on, and there are migration tools for it. It is not a like-for-like copy though. Reporting and inventory work differently.
Move to Enterprise. Still desktop, considerably more expensive, and aimed at bigger operations.
Leave for something else. Xero, FreshBooks, Sage. If QuickBooks was already annoying you, a forced migration is the cheapest moment you will ever get to change.
