At the bottom, HubSpot’s pricing is easy to follow. Free is genuinely free. Starter is $20 a seat. Then Professional arrives and the number changes shape entirely.

Starter to Professional
This is the jump that costs money. Sales or Service Professional is $100 per seat per month against Starter’s $20, and Marketing Hub Professional starts at $890 with three seats included. Put five people on it. A five-person team moving from Starter to Sales Pro goes from $100 a month to $500.
You get workflows, sequences, custom reporting and forecasting. Most teams only ever needed two of those. Which is why so many sit on Starter far longer than the sales team would like.
Marketing contact tiers
Marketing Hub charges by marketing contacts, so the price climbs as your list grows. The $890 headline is the floor, not the bill. Before you commit, work out what your list looks like in a year, because that is the number you will actually be paying.
Two levers
Pay annually, up front, and Starter drops from $20 to $15 a seat. Then mark contacts as non-marketing wherever you can, since only marketing contacts count toward the tier. Between them, those two levers move the bill more than any negotiation will.
The thing no tier includes at any price
